Well, here goes.. We got a first timer here! New blogger.
This is the first published blog post from EP!C, and that's me. I used to be Scandalous but I'm EP!C. Anyways, I am a technology geek, I have a deep rooted connection with computers, electronics in general but mostly computer related. I have been using a computer in one form or another for 28 of my 36 years on the planet. And I'm not talking about nintendo, I had a Commodore 64 at age 7 I was writing basic prograrms. I still remember it "10 ? "hello world" 20 goto 10 run." And I had to fix the diskette drive myself, I don't know what I did exactly when I took it apart and wiggled things, and looked at what it was made from. Put it back together and it worked. So, been working with computers most of the time since then, not as much age 16-23 when I got wheels, got lucky, got lucky, repeat till >>fast forward >> 23,
and settled down and got back into my nerdy ways.
Well, I know a lot of things about a lot of things, but not really everything about one certain thing. So, here is the problem now. I know enough to get started in a project then midway in I realize I need to learn a bit more, or a lot more. So, I'm diving head first into some advanced areas of the computer realm and I have t learn as I'm going along. I am hoping to find new sources for advice and or instruction when I am stuck or over my head. For example, I have a dedicated server which I plan to lease space to host websites on for a few bucks a month. Recently I have picked up couple clients who need a web presence, so I'm going to design, build, host, and maintain their company websites. Sure what could go wrong.
More can go wrong then you would really ever think. Trying to get these sites going, and I'm running into some issues, naturally. I got the graphics down, I can tear up some CS6, I'm good with the Cpanel, the IP addresses, the SSL, the SSH, the WHM, and got my domains up like a boss, I just don'r know dog poop about the advanced website development. I don't know css much, php not so much, html I got a grasp on, and I understand it all, I just don't have any experience with it or databases, and html really is not the tool anymore. SO, maybe there is a way or a resource someone could provide me with or somehow steer me in the proper direction? Javascript, SEO practices? Searching reports so much data, and so many scams, outdated info, it'd nice to not have to decipher all that data and get ahold of proper instructions, samples, etc.
Well, that was my first post, I have LOTS more about so many things, I will have no problem writing about something! Hope someone read this, other then a robot crawler. See ya when I see ya I guess.
